Scholarship Scheme

St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir and their Musical Director Edward Holly in association with Monsignor Jim Carroll and St. Peter’s Parish are delighted to announce a free musical scholarship scheme in the Drogheda area for young men between 16 - 19 years of age.

Successful candidates will be provided with the syllabus requirements for the Leaving Certificate Music Examinations taking place in 2014 and subsequent years. The value of this scholarship is in the region of €1000 per student and covers voice coaching and mentoring by Ireland’s leading tenor and voice teacher Emmanuel Lawlor as well as weekly Academic classes by fully qualified music teacher Paul Brennan.

Students will also benefit from stage and performance experience with St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir, the leading male voice choir in Ireland. The choir has performed in Drogheda in recent years with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and their enormously popular Christmas concerts are legendary. Choir members recently performed with top international acts Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins in the O2, Dublin. The choir has also released highly successful CDs with Grammy award-winning producer Brian Masterson.

St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir is renowned for singing in numerous styles and therefore any genre of singing (rock/popular/traditional/classical/jazz) is welcome. The choir is presently rehearsing for its annual Christmas Concert taking place in the TLT on Friday 6th December.

Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 8.00pm in 11 Fair Street, Drogheda. New and past members of the choir are always welcome. For further details please contact
